Do I (automatically) become a freelancer if I work shifts through Shiftgevuld? +
No. You either work for your current employer, or -- if you fill paid shifts -- through a payroll arrangement: you receive a net wage with tax and contributions withheld, just like with a staffing agency. That also means you can simply take part if you already have a regular job. All of this is fully compliant with the Dutch Wet DBA and Wet Wtta -- rest assured, no hassle!
How is the price of a shift determined? +
The organisation sets a starting price and a maximum price. Between those, the price gradually rises as the shift gets closer. If many employees view the shift without accepting it, that rise speeds up.
Do I see the full pricing curve as an employee? +
No, you only see the current offer at this moment, with an indication of whether it can still rise. The full schedule and the maximum stay with the organisation, so no one can strategically wait for the known ceiling.
What if the shift runs over? +
Overtime is automatically paid at the last applicable hourly rate at the moment of clocking out. Both parties confirm the actual hours afterwards.
How is quality measured without visible profiles? +
Through tiers (there are 5 tiers: starter, mid, senior, specialist, expert) based on verifiable criteria: diploma, years of experience, number of completed shifts, and references from organisations. From six or more reviews onward, an average is used, so one bad experience isn't decisive.

What does it cost? +
For employees, Shiftgevuld is always free. Organisations pay a fixed, low monthly fee based on the size of their own employee pool (from €19 per month, excluding VAT). With that you post unlimited shifts and fill them with your own employees, with no extra cost per shift.
Only when an external employee fills your shift through Shiftgevuld do you pay additional costs: a percentage on top of the employee's hourly rate. The earlier you post, the lower those costs: with 14 days or more in advance the costs start at 10% and rise to a maximum of 20%; with 7 days or less in advance they start at 15% and rise to a maximum of 25%. In between, the costs start at 12.5% and rise to a maximum of 22.5%. No match? Then no extra costs, and before you confirm, based on the shift details, you always see exactly what the shift costs.
All the details are on the
Pricing page.
How do you handle privacy and the security of my data? +
We handle personal data -- especially sensitive documents like ID copies, BSN and bank details -- with care, and we limit it to what is necessary. Concretely: passwords are never stored in readable form, we offer two-factor authentication (MFA) (it is mandatory for administrators before they can open identity documents), sensitive documents are never freely accessible and can only be requested by those entitled to see them, every viewing of an identity document is recorded, connections run over HTTPS, and accounts are protected against repeated login attempts.
We use the GDPR as our starting point for everything we build and let our security be guided by the NCSC guidelines for web applications. We check our own application with automated security tests. Our application and database run in Europe (Frankfurt) at Render, a hosting provider with an independent SOC 3 audit report and ISO 27001 certification. Questions about your data or how we handle it? Feel free to get in touch with us.
